THE STORY
The Château Garraud vineyard was created in the mid-19th century by the Count of Kermartin.
Mr. Léon Nony purchased it in the late 1930s and set about renovating and expanding it. He also established Château Treytins in the 1950s. After his death in 1959, his son Michel and then his grandson Jean-Marc continued his work. During the 1990s, the cellars were completely renovated and new buildings were constructed. In 1997 and 2007, the vineyard continued to expand across the Lalande-de-Pomerol and Montagne-Saint-Émilion appellations.
It was in 1997 that the Nony family created L’Ancien, a wine produced in very limited quantities and positioned among the very best of the Lalande-de-Pomerol appellation.

It was in 2019 that Marie-Laure and Pierre Esnée acquired the château. Until then specialised in the world of hospitality, the family group expanded its activities into the wine estate sector. Driven by passion, they embarked on a new renovation programme for the estate: a new concrete vat room, a new ageing cellar, the complete rehabilitation of the site, new vineyard equipment, and more.
The estate is directly managed by Marie-Laure and Pierre Esnée, with the support of two consultants: Stéphane Beuret for operational management, and oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt, who embodies the new generation of vineyard and winemaking consultants.

Château Garraud-Treytins now covers more than forty-five hectares, producing high-quality wines regularly recognised by the specialised press and awarded in competitions.
An active policy of selective and direct sales has always been pursued with French wine lovers, as well as internationally in many countries across Europe, North America and Asia.
